Ok Foodies : add this to your Spain list. Mesón del Champiñón. Literal translation is “Tavern of the Mushroom”. Met up with my local friend Alberto who has been giving me excellent Madrid tips and he took us to this little place right near the the Plaza Mayor for Tapas. It also has a little cellar space for those in the know, and it is of course next level amazing. I’m not even really a mushroom eater but these were delicious. The mushrooms had little pieces of chorizo on them, honestly best mushroom I’ve ever tasted. We also had some Jamón Croquettes and some Chorizo. Washed down with delicious Sangria.
