Yesterday’s coffee was at Wanaka on the way to Mount Cook. We really only came via Wanaka for a quick look, but we found an excellent breakfast place “Kai Whakapai”. Sharon had eggs on toast and said they were fantastic.
We missed the “tree in the lake”, thats something we will check out next time. Apparently Wanaka is building its own reputation as a mini tourist Mecca on the Queenstown adventure scale. One advantage Wanaka has is in parking… So much easier than finding a spot in Queenstown.
On the way here we stopped at Lindis Pass, this apparently is the highest point on the main highway on the South Island.
